The weekend of the 21-23 February was very special for us – it was the first time we covered a traditional Indian wedding. We photographed Hiral and Padma’s “legal” wedding exactly one year ago, and ever since then, we waited for this weekend to come. And what a weekend it was – the festivities were split over three days, and we ended up with so many photos that we decided to split the blog post in two parts.

In this first part, we will share images from the Friday night and Saturday morning. The actual wedding took place on Sunday, and those photos will be shared in the next blog post. The Friday night was the ladies night, when Hiral and dozens of her family and friends turned out for a night of lovely saris, henna skin decorations, music and of course, yummi Indian food. The Saturday morning was filled with traditional Hindu prayers at Padma’s house. These two events were great lead-ins to the big spectacle of the Sunday wedding – stay tuned for those photos!
