Most of our wedding photography clients book our services around 12 months prior to the big day. That might be a general rule, but here today we would like to present a couple that likes to bend rules and do things somewhat differently to the norm.

Jessica and Steve contacted us for the first time three weeks before their wedding. It’s not that they were not well organised (oh, they were very organised, as you will see below!), but something fell through with the wedding photographer they had originally booked. After our initial meeting at the Sherbet Cafe & Bake Shop in Maylands, I remember thinking what a great coup this would be for us to take over as their wedding photographers.

We simply loved everything about Jessica and Steve’s wedding day. From the dress, the bouquet, the bridesmaid dresses, all the way through to the gorgeous little details at the wedding reception. Incidentally, most of the details you see below were designed and put together by Jess herself (we adored the lolly table!). This gave the whole day a real personal stamp.

The wedding ceremony was held at the St Andrew's Church in Subiaco. After the ceremony, we made a quick stopover at the Matilda Bay before heading off to Hyde Park. The lake is pretty much dry, but the park more than makes up for it with the gorgeous autumn leaves and the magical light that shines on those leaves this time of the year. We always love coming back there, and it is one of our favourite wedding photography locations in Perth. We rounded off this beautiful day with a wedding reception at the always gorgeous Sandalford Wines.
