The week leading up to Laura and Shahar’s wedding revolved around checking weather forecasts, as heavy rain was predicted for Sunday. The forecast kept changing, from all day rain to occassional showers, developing showers and finally, to late evening showers. That brought a huge sigh of relief to Laura and Shahar and their families, as the wedding ceremony was planned to be an outdoor ceremony at the picturesque gardens of the Cottesloe Civic Centre. This venue is equally famous as one of the most beautiful venues for wedding ceremonies in Perth, as well as for having the ridiculously expensive parking tickets ($200!!) that the staff are very keen to lash out at the wedding guests

Laura and Shahar’s wedding was a gorgeously emotional affair, deep rooted in the age old Jewish wedding traditions. We started the day at Laura’s parents house for her bridal preparation, before heading off to Cottesloe. After the ceremony, we stayed at the grounds for some location photography. The weather was perfect for wedding photography, with the sun peaking through the healthy dose of cloud cover to create lovely soft lighting.

The wedding reception was held at the marquee of the Royal Freshwater Yacht Club. Jewish wedding receptions are very exciting to photograph, as soon as the couple walk into the reception venue, the wedding party lights up the dance floor with fast-paced traditional dances. At that stage, there is not much one can say, except: Mazel tov!
